The Diamond Valley Arts Society are holding their annual Art Show this weekend, at the Greensborough Masonic Centre, 23 Ester Street Greensborough.

Opening Night is Friday from 7:00pm, come along and meet some of the artists and watch the presentation of prizes.

Open Saturday 10:00 – 5:00, and Sunday 10:00 – 4:00.

Entry is $2.00.

There are 104 entries on display, and we have works submitted in a variety of categories and mediums.

  • Oils, acrylics, pastel, watercolour, drawing and other mediums, sculpture and pottery.

We have also heard a whisper that some of our artists will be doing demonstrations over the weekend, and you can ask them questions about their style of work.  This information will be made available after the opening ceremony, which will be led by our President Ellen Jenkins.

There will also be art for sale in the foyer, and a raffle.  You can also submit a people choice entry.

See you there!

The Diamond Valley Arts Society September Newsletter is out now

Hi everyone, September has been another busy month, I was away for a bit, and a few of our members entered their art into other art shows.

To see it for yourself  click here and the DVAS Sept newsletter will download to your computer. If you want a printed copy or have any suggestions for future newsletters please email Jo on admin@dvartsociety.com.au

Next edition will include a story and some images from our own Art Show, which is being held on the 19th to 21st October at the Greensborough Masonic Centre.  A few of us are also going up the Geelong to see the 2018 Archibald Prize.  I still have one spot left on the bus if you are interested!

To reduce our carbon footprint, it is preferable for the Society to provide an electronic version of the newsletter so you can read it online and not waste paper.  You can download your own version if you so choose and even print it off yourself.  The reduction in the postage costs has been considerable and has allowed us to use that money more wisely elsewhere.

We do still provide paper versions to those without email access or who don’t use the internet.  Those people elect to have the newsletter posted out to them.

See you all

Anna Dalton joins DVAS Gallery

Anna has been a member of DVAS since 2009. “I attribute me love of painting to being influenced by a wonderful childhood spent in the scenic beauty that is East Gippsland. Constantly observing and wanting to capture my surrounds, I was sketching from an early age. It is to Gippsland and its coastline that I still return time and again, both for reflection and inspiration, my camera always on hand”.

Linda Macaulay Demonstration

lmWell known and much loved local artist Linda Macaulay will be conducting a demonstration Friday 7th October at the DVAS studios, Nell St Greensborough – 7pm sharp.

All welcome!!!

*Please note: A small door charge of $5 for members and $8 for non members will apply which will help our committee fund future guest demonstrations.
